Weather & Story was founded in 2016 as a project focused on creating timeless, traditionally crafted handbags and small leather accessories. Intended to become storied heirlooms, all products are handcrafted in Austin, Texas using 100% full grain, vegetable tanned leather sourced from family run tanneries in Italy. Vegetable tanning is a traditional process of coloring and tanning leathers using organic tannins rather than chromium based chemical agents, a process that not only lends itself to increased longevity and beautiful aging over time, but also one that yields less toxic by-product. Weather & Story guarantees their bags for life, a testament to the quality of make and materials, and ensures all materials are sourced from ethical tanneries using industry by-products and ensuring safe and fair working conditions.
